FAQ

How would you describe your photographic style?

Relaxed and unobtrusive, I know that isn’t necessarily what you’re asking. For the most part I try and capture the events of the day as they happen, so I guess from that point of view one might call it ‘photo journalistic’ but that term is often over used and sometimes is even used to cover up less than perfect images.

I obviously do the formally posed shots as well, even if it’s not the sort of thing that couples want now, parents and aunties usually do!

I guess if I had to put a label on it then I’d probably say ‘Contemporary’. But it really does depend on what you want, not what I want. You’re the boss, I will do it the way that you want it done.

How much do you charge?

That depends on what you want and what your budget is. I try to keep my own overheads to a minimum so that I can keep my costs as low as possible while at the same time making a living.

Let’s first discuss what you want from your photographer, then we can decide on a fair price for the service together.

What does ‘All Day’ actually mean?

Just what it says. I will start when you start, so if you want me early in the morning to record that special champagne breakfast, or when you arrive at the hairdresser, that’s when I’ll start. I’ll finish when you want me to, be it at the end of the speeches, when the party ends or when you or your guests have had more than enough of the flash going off.

The choice is yours.

What is ‘Half Day’?

I’m not a great clock watcher but in general half a day will be 4-5 hours and probably no more than 6, unless I’m really enjoying myself.

Again the start and finish is decided by you.

Do you do a pre-wedding shoot?

I certainly do and I encourage every couple to have one. It is a great way for me to get to know you a bit better and for you to get to know me, and hopefully to feel comfortable with me.

It is also a way for you to get used to having your photo taken and allowing you to relax in front of the camera, I know that it can be a daunting experience and that a lot of people are very camera shy (why do you think I’m this side of the lens?).

If we do this session early enough you could always use the photos in a personalised guest book, or on your invitations.

We can do this in a location of your choice, informally or formal studio style, or a mix and match. I would normally leave between 2 hours and half a day for this, there’s no rush.

Do you travel?

Yes, both in the UK and worldwide. Depending on the location of your wedding will depend on the cost of expenses, but in most circumstances my agreed fee will include all my expenses.

When will we be able to see our photographs?

I aim to have all your photographs available by the time that you return from your honeymoon but they are often available much sooner than that.

Do we get all our photographs?

The short answer is yes. I will give you all the images after they have been processed and you have had a chance to view them. They will probably be a mix of colour, black & white and selective colour, if there are any that you want in a specific manner I will do my best to accommodate.

In general a full day of coverage will probably result in around 1,300 – 1,500 images, maybe more maybe less.

What happens if I am not satisfied with my photographs?

I will try and sort out the problem to your satisfaction. If you are still not satisfied then I will refund your money. I have never had a dissatisfied couple yet, and I certainly intend to keep it that way.

What are the hidden extras?

There aren’t any, what we discuss and agree is what you get. Once you have decided on what you want and I have agreed then that is what you will get.

If you want something extra, maybe an album or coffee table book, I will be more than happy to provide you with a quote or provide whatever advise I can to help you make an informed decision.

Are all the photographs on your site yours?

Yes all the photos that you see here are mine and they are all of real weddings not of arranged photo sessions using models.

Do you have some complete weddings for me to look at?

Of course, I am more than happy to show you my work, both electronic versions and printed versions. The best thing to do is to arrange a meeting where I will be happy to show you my work in more detail.
